Part Four, Conclusion
This is not about a religious affiliation. This is about a lifetime commitment to a person. It’s a matter of life and death. Jesus says that “unless you believe that I am He, you will die in your sins” (John 8:24). You will spend an eternity apart from God (2 Thes.1:8-9). Who are we going to place our faith in?
Jesus holds the promise of eternal life; of a new heaven and earth where the He will reign and be worshiped alongside the Father forever and ever. Do you want to be there? Would you like to fall in love with Your Lord and Maker, Jesus Christ? Would you like to have a relationship with Him?
You must admit that you have violated Gods righteous laws and are deserving of condemnation (hell fire). Each one of us has personally turned away from God and chosen a path of pride, lust, and greed. Will you agree with God about your sin? Will you confess your helpless need for a Savoir?
You cannot save yourself. God’s Righteousness demands that you must be perfectly righteous for acceptance into His kingdom. All you have to do is violate His holy commandment one time, and you are no longer considered righteous but guilty of being a lawbreaker. No matter how many good things you try to do, a penalty must be paid for your offense. The penalty is death (Rom.6:23); separation from God, both now and for eternity.
Do you know God? Not … do you know about Him? Do you know Him? Be honest with yourself. Would you like to know Him?
You can receive Jesus Christ today. He is Lord of heaven and earth. He lived a perfect life, fulfilling God’s demand for righteousness. He died on the cross, paying the penalty for sin. He rose from the dead, proving that he is the way to eternal life. Since He never sinned, He can pay the penalty for you. He didn’t need not pay one for Himself.
God will choose to look upon the sacrifice of Jesus as a sufficient payment for your violations against His holy law. He will accept you on the basis of His Sons perfection –for He committed no sin. He will save you and call you His child.
You can fall on your knees, repent, and confess Him as LORD. Give up the ownership of your life into His hands. Die to self with Him at the cross, and you will live with Him both now and forever.
Don’t wait … tomorrow never comes. “Today is the day of salvation” (2Cor6:2). “If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead you will be saved” (Rom.10:9).
