Fire and Gold

Fire is hot. When God takes us through seasons of purification, it burns. It doesn’t feel like a warming fire. However, something else occurs. As the impurities rise to the surface of our life, they stand out. Hopefully, what remains, is our pure childlike trust in Christ’ ability to save us to the uttermost -no matter how this life pans out.

Fire is hot. But when it’s the hottest, our reliance on Christ to save our souls will either shine as pure gold, or burn up in the flames. Fire, will always prove the purity of one thing, is our trust in Jesus rooted in our works, or in the finished work of the Son of God?
